Technical Lead – Integration

ARCA is delighted to be partnering with a leading UK consumer-focused organisation undergoing significant investment in its digital and technology capabilities.

We're looking for a Technical Lead – Integration to take ownership of the technical direction of a critical integration platform, helping to connect business-critical applications, services and customer-facing systems across a modern cloud environment.

This is an opportunity for a hands-on technical leader who enjoys shaping architecture, mentoring engineers and solving complex integration challenges whilst remaining close to technology and delivery.

The Opportunity

As Technical Lead, you'll work closely with Engineering leadership and Architecture teams to drive the evolution of a cloud-native integration landscape built around Microsoft Azure and .NET technologies.

You'll provide technical leadership to a cross-functional engineering squad, guiding solution design, defining best practices and ensuring the delivery of scalable, secure and resilient integration services.

This role would suit a Lead Engineer, Principal Engineer or Technical Lead who enjoys influencing technical strategy whilst remaining involved in engineering and solution delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the technical direction and roadmap for integration services and platforms.
• Provide hands-on leadership across Azure-based integration solutions.
• Design and deliver robust API, messaging and event-driven architectures.
• Collaborate with Engineering Managers and Architects to drive delivery and technical decision-making.
• Mentor and support engineers, helping to raise technical capability across the team.
• Drive engineering best practices including code quality, documentation, testing and maintainability.
• Identify and address technical debt, performance bottlenecks and platform risks.
• Ensure solutions are scalable, resilient, secure and observable.
• Support estimation, technical planning and roadmap delivery.

What We're Looking For

Essential Experience

• Strong commercial experience developing solutions using C# and .NET.
• Proven expertise building cloud-native solutions within Microsoft Azure.
• Experience with:
• Azure Functions
• Azure Logic Apps
• Azure Service Bus and/or Event Grid
• Azure API Management
• Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
• Azure Container Applications
• Strong experience delivering integration platforms, APIs, distributed systems and event-driven architectures.
• Good understanding of scalability, reliability, resilience and performance optimisation.
• Experience implementing secure integration patterns including OAuth2, OpenID Connect and API security.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Experience mentoring engineers and providing technical leadership within agile environments.

Desirable Experience



• Infrastructure as Code using Bicep, ARM or Terraform.
• Observability and monitoring tooling.
• Retail, eCommerce or omnichannel environments.
• Experience working within large-scale digital transformation programmes.
