Job Title: Senior Electronics Engineer – Power Electronics Hardware

Location: Norwich

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

Overview:

ARCA is partnering with a key client to recruit a Senior Electronics Engineer to support the development of power electronics hardware across a range of cutting-edge technology projects. This is a hands-on role working under the guidance of the Lead Electronics Engineer, with responsibility for delivering robust, high-performance designs that meet control, sensing, communication, and thermal requirements.

You’ll play a critical role in delivering reliable hardware solutions for advanced propulsion, mobility, and industrial systems.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead hardware design activities across multiple power electronics projects
  • Develop and validate analogue and digital circuitry for control, sensing, and communications functions
  • Ensure hardware meets thermal, EMC, and environmental requirements
  • Work closely with the Lead Electronics Engineer to align designs with system-level requirements
  • Generate detailed design documentation, including schematics, BOMs, and design calculations
  • Support prototype bring-up, test planning, and fault-finding using lab equipment
  • Collaborate with firmware, mechanical, and systems teams to ensure successful hardware integration

 

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Strong background in power electronics hardware design (inverters, converters, motor controllers, etc.)
  • Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout, with attention to EMC and thermal management
  • Experience with analogue/digital signal conditioning and high-speed communications interfaces
  • Comfortable working in a lab environment with test equipment for validation and debugging
  • Familiarity with functional safety or regulated development standards is a plus
