Senior Simulation Engineer
Location: Spa, Belgium | Permanent | On-site with some travel
ARCA Resourcing is working in partnership with a high-performance simulation technology organisation operating at the forefront of professional motorsport and racing performance.
The business is extending elite simulator capability, traditionally reserved for top-tier factory motorsport, into a wider professional racing environment. Founded by engineers with experience at the highest competitive level, the organisation delivers advanced simulation solutions with direct on-track impact.
Role Overview
The Senior Simulation Engineer will take ownership of simulator operations and play a key role in shaping technical capability and service delivery. The position combines hands-on simulation work with leadership, mentoring, and close collaboration with senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead simulator operations and supervise simulator operators
- Develop, integrate, and refine vehicle, tyre, and track models
- Optimise simulator performance, robustness, realism, and usability
- Collaborate on vehicle physics, control systems, and subsystem modelling
- Manage and maintain the simulator facility, working with specialist suppliers
- Support team development and contribute to the long-term technical roadmap
Essential Skills & Experience
- Master’s or PhD in Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or a related discipline
- Minimum 5 years’ experience with Driver-in-the-Loop (DiL) simulators
- Strong knowledge of real-time simulation environments
- Experience with vehicle dynamics and system-level modelling
- Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink, Python, and C/C++
- Ability to work directly with customers and represent technical expertise
- High attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to perform under pressure
- Full professional proficiency in English
- Willingness to travel as required
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Background in motorsport or high-performance automotive environments
- Experience with motion cueing development
- Model integration, fitting, and correlation experience
- Exposure to HiL systems and control systems
- Experience with dSPACE, Speedgoat, Concurrent, Modelica, or Dymola
- Additional European language skills (French or German advantageous not essential)
